Repairing Cotton Quilts - October 16, 2021 (10:00 - 1:00)

Do you have a family heirloom that needs a little TLC before passing it down to the next generation. Or are you a dealer or collector who just needs some guidance on the best way to make repairs that will not impact the value of your quilt? Please note that you do NOT have to be an expert quilter to benefit from this class!

This class will cover techniques for making professional repairs on quilts:

     Re-stitching seams so that the repairs are invisible;
     Creating templates to cover stains and degraded fabrics;
     Dealing with holes that go all the way through the quilt; and
     The proper way to dye and condition fabrics to match wear and age.

After the instruction period, students will have an opportunity to apply their knowledge by working on a quilt that they brought. (The instructor will bring her stash of antique and vintage cotton fabrics that can be purchased at a nominal price.)

MUST have a minimum of 5 students to hold the class.
