Tips, Tricks, Tools, Bindings and Borders
We will be making a placemat after learning new ways that can be applied to making
quilts. I can assure you; this is way more than a placemat class, ask the ladies in Mobile, AL.
The purpose of the class is to practice the things discussed in the lecture. (I
promise it will be fun, and you will learn something.

| Requirements: | Prep- A- Make 1 center block, either fussy cut a 8 ? x 8 ? square or make a block of your choice that will finish at 8? once sewn into the place mat. B- Cut 2 strips 1 ? x 8 ? for border #1 C- Cut 2 strips 2 ? x 8 ? for border #2 D- Cut 2 strips 1 ? x WOF for border #3 E- Cut 2 Strips 1 ? x WOF for border #4 F- Cut 1 piece of batting 14 X 20 G- Cut 1 Piece backing 14 x 20 H- Cut 2 strips 2 ? x WOF for Binding -Please bring coordinating thread for quilting, and for binding; sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, and an open mind |
